I would like to swap out the intake to get more hp/performance. I heard that the (OEM) LS6 intake is better. This seems like an easy part to find used, and would probably be cheaper than buying a new after market intake. If you are sure that it's not a whirring rotational sound, you can rule out cam bearings, cam gear bolts backing out, or roller tip issues. A sharp sound is an impact sound. Or find a member close to you that can do it. I've seen people on PT charging around 400 for cam and valve spring install. Slammed AWD turbo truck.

You would most likely be better off going with something like the Thunder racing 220 or 224.
